TWO new yoga classes will be launched in Kidlington in January in an attempt to help people get fit in the new year.

The sessions have been organised by Cherwell District Council and are designed for adults and children.

Parents will be able to bring their children to the sessions at St Thomas More Primary School, which will start on Tuesday, January 13, and run every Tuesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

Sessions for adults with limited mobility or those looking to take up yoga for the first time will take place on Thursday mornings at Kidlington Baptist Church Hall.

They will begin on Thursday, January 15, and run weekly from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Both sessions will cost £5 for adults and the St Thomas More Primary School classes will cost £1 for children.

Council deputy leader George Reynolds said: “One of the most popular new year’s resolutions is for people to get fit so we are offering these classes to inspire people and help them on their way.

“Yoga helps to increase strength, improve flexibility and helps to create a better posture, so the health benefits are numerous.”
