POLICE are still investigating the unexplained death of a man found in Banbury.

Officers said they were called to an area of grassland off Hennef Way at about 1.20pm yesterday.

A man, thought to be in his forties, was declared deceased at the scene.

Thames Valley Police spokesman James Williams said the man’s next of kin have been informed.

He added: "Formal identification is yet to take place but is likely to be undertaken after a post mortem, which is also yet to be scheduled."

Mr Williams said the man’s death is still being treated as unexplained but is not thought to be suspicious.

Officers were at the scene last night until about 8pm.
