A MAN has been arrested after a driver in Banbury was threatened with a kitchen knife and a crowbar.

On Friday, a 22-year-old was driving a green VW Golf along Longelandes Way when three men in a red Nissan Note drove towards him.

Police said a passenger in the Nissan Note got out of the car and ran towards the victim with a large kitchen knife and crowbar.

The victim reversed his car and drove through Ruscote Park to escape.

The offender was described as white, 6ft tall, with short light brown hair and a slim build.

A 22-year-old from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and has been released on police bail until April 4.
