A MAN accused of sexually abusing two teenage girls took to the stand and denied even knowing his alleged victims.

Kagiso Manase is one of seven men on trial at Oxford Crown Court accused of grooming and abusing teenage girls in Banbury between 2011 and 2013.

Manase, 21, of Warwick Road, Banbury, is charged with six counts, including sexual activity with a child under the age of 16, inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault.

Manase is on trial with Ahmed HassanSule, 20, of Glyndebourne Gardens; Said Saleh, 20, of Orchard Way; Mohamed Saleh, 21, of Orchard Way; Takudzwa Hova, 21, of Broughton Road; Alexandru Nae, 19, of Broome Way; and a 17-year-old who cannot be named.

He said he met one of his alleged victims just once, briefly outside a shop near the Venus Club in Broad Street, Banbury.

He said: “I was stood outside the shop while TK (Hova) was buying Rizlas. A group of girls shouted at us. I thought they were friends of TK’s. I asked the girl in front who she was and she identified herself.

"She had a little bottle with liquid in it which she was drinking. I didn’t really pay no mind because I didn’t know her.”

He said he had no knowledge of his second alleged victim until he was arrested and shown pictures of her by the police.

He added: “There’s no place I’ve been with her.” The trial continues.
