AN APPEAL to build 140 extra homes on an approved development at Hardwick Farm in Banbury has been thrown out.

London-based company Pandora Trading Ltd had received permission from Cherwell District Council for 90 homes at the site off Southam Road, including retail facilities and extra care housing.

But a second application last October to bring the total to 230 homes was refused, despite Cherwell’s shortfall in land supply.

Pandora appealed the decision by the district council’s planning committee, but that has now been rejected.
