A TEENAGER who threatened to burn down his ex-partner’s caravan has been given a suspended sentence after admitting affray.
Alex Tobin, 19, of Station Caravan Park in Banbury, had an argument with his ex-girlfriend on January 18 in which he grabbed two knives from a draining board, Oxford Crown Court heard.
Tobin, who appeared via video link on Friday, admitted affray, having an article with a blade or point, and two counts of criminal damage.
The judge, Recorder Nicholas Goodwin QC, told Tobin: “You have behavioural problems, a long history of depression and are on the autistic spectrum.
“During a period on remand you re-started taking medicine and improved.
“I am imposing a sentence of detention but suspending it.”
Tobin was sentenced to four months’ jail for affray, suspended for 18 months with an 18-month supervision requirement, including attending a Building Better Relationships programme.
He was also sentenced to four months’ jail for having an article with a blade or point, and one month’s jail ifor the criminal damage, both suspended for 18 months, with the same supervision requirements
