BURGLARS attempting to enter a property in Banbury were stabbed in an altercation inside.
The two men had tried to get into the building in Harlech Close between 12.30am and 12.45am last Saturday.
When they could not get in, they climbed onto the roof to enter through the window.
According to police, the two men were then involved in a fight with another man from within the property, and both were injured.
One, aged in his twenties, sustained knife wounds to his chest, neck and arm. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and is still there.
The other man, also in his twenties, received a cut finger and a nose injury and taken to the Horton General Hospital, Banbury. He has been discharged.
Investigating officer Det Con Mark Personius said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the altercation near the window of the property in Harlech Close.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident or anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation.”
Police said a 50-year-old man from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of grevious bodily harm with intent on Saturday and was bailed until August 1.
Another man, a 28-year-old from Banbury was also arrested on Saturday on suspicion of attempted burglary. He was bailed until August 25.
On Sunday a third Banbury man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and was bailed until August 21.
