POLICE are looking for six children who damaged a boat on the Oxford Canal near Banbury.

The children, a mixture of boys and girls, cut the mooring ropes and damaged the windows of a Wilderness narrow boat on Sunday at about 4pm.

Thames Valley Police provided descriptions for two of the offenders.

One was a boy of medium build with light coloured hair - short at the sides and long and curly on top.

Another offender was a girl around 13-years-old with long chestnut coloured hair.

The incident took place along the canal between the M40 and the viaduct near Banbury.
