A man has been taken to hospital after being punched in the mouth whilst picking up a takeaway.

The 41-year-old victim parked up with his family yesterday to collect a takeaway in Middleton Road, Banbury.

Whilst the family were waiting in the car a man came up and spat on the passenger window.

The victim and his wife challenged the man who then punched the husband in the mouth before walking off.

He was taken to Horton Hospital with an injury to his lip.

Thames Valley Police said the offender is white, aged in his thirties, 5ft 11ins and of medium build.

It said he has short hair and was wearing a black tracksuit jacket and dark trousers, carrying two white carrier bags.

Police would like to speak to anyone that may have seen the assault.
