AN aspiring artist has urged others to show off their creative talents by setting up their own temporary exhibitions in town centres.
Briady Rose opened a new pop-up shop in Banbury last week to display her prized works and encourage potential buyers.
It is part of a nationwide tour for the artist, known as Birdy Rose, who will be opening up shops in different towns around the UK.
The 29-year-old, from Essex, is hoping that setting up in areas like Banbury will help prevent high street units from being underused for long periods.
She said: "I have had people come in and talk to me about how a lot of shops in the town centre are not being used.
"I know Banbury has the Mill centre but art is something that needs to be pushed to the forefront a lot more.
"I feel people should use the pop-up shop idea more, it gives more variety to the high street and it's a big opportunity for people who just want to try something out."
She added: "Business has been quiet so far but everyone who has come in has loved my artwork."
The shop, at 85 High Street, is open until Sunday, 7 February.
