Bark in the Park was held for the first time last year
Banbury's Bark In The Park event, due to be held in People's Park on July 3, has been cancelled.
The event - the brainchild of former Banbury mayor Tony Mepham - was first held last year as a celebration of pets.
But with a month to go until the second edition, organisers Banbury Town Council has said the event will not be going ahead.
On its Facebook page the council said it had been difficult to find enough demonstrations and activities needed to ensure the event "fulfills public expectation."
