AN armed robber threatened Post Office staff with a gun before running off with a wodge of cash. 

Thames Valley Police is hunting for Danny Walsh in connection with the crime, which happened at about 3.20pm yesterday in Easington Post Office near Banbury. 

It said he is sometimes seen sleeping in a tent around the town. 

The force said the robber brandished a black handgun as staff handed over the cash, before he made off on foot.

It described Mr Walsh aswhite with short black hair and a black beard, who is likely to be wearing dark clothing, a hooded top and black trousers.

Senior investigating officer detective inspector Nick Glister said: “If you see Walsh please do not approach him, instead call police on 999.

“If you have information about Walsh, his whereabouts or in a non-emergency please call police on 101.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we are conducting a thorough investigation into this serious offence.

"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses, obtained CCTV and carried out extra patrols in the area.

“If anyone is concerned or has questions then please do not hesitate to speak to a police officer or PCSO.”

He asked people to quote reference number 405 (31/7).
