A fire broke out in a machine used to make breadcrumbs at a food producers in Banbury last night.
Fire crews were called to Newly Wed Foods in Lombard Way at about 7.15pm.
On arrival they were told that the fire was in a specialist machine used to dry and process breadcrumbs.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and on-site air handling equipment on the site.
Watch manager Simon Piper, from Banbury Fire Station, said: “Due to the expert knowledge of the onsite shift engineer and team leader, we were able to quickly access the area of the machine that was affected, enabling us to undertake immediate actions to extinguish the fire, and utilise the air-handling equipment built into the premises to remove the resultant smoke”.
