A BANBURY man arrested outside Buckingham Palace and charged with carrying knives and a "wire saw" has been tracked down.

John Bolton, also known as Shane, was hunted by police after failing to show up to Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 4, sparking the court to issue a warrant for his arrest.

The 46-year-old, who lives in East Street in Banbury, was arrested at Hyde Park Corner on Thursday, June 9, on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in public.

Thames Valley Police yesterday said police had found Bolton "safe and well" in Dorset, and thanked members of the public for their help.

Bolton had been charged with three counts of possessing a knife and one count of possessing a wire saw.

He was reportedly wearing an SAS-style beret and had a military radio when he was arrested, and allegedly told police he had been "guarding" Buckingham Palace in his car with his dog for the past five days.
