A MOTHER of two with Motor Neurone Disease who fundraised to help her children start a new life in Australia has died.

Sam Kyme, 34, raised more than £40,000 for her sons Joey and Harry to join her sister in Australia after being given just months to live.

She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of the disease in April and could not speak within two months.

Ms Kyme's friend Susanna Howard informed supporters of her death on the crowdfunding site Just Giving.

She wrote on Thursday evening: "It is with huge sadness that we have to tell you our beautiful Sam passed away this morning.

"She went peacefully with her family around her.

"The family are deeply saddened but also relieved that she is no longer suffering.

"Thank you to everyone for the incredible generosity and support during these difficult and devastating months."

Ms Kyme, who lived in Banbury, had feared that her sons would be taken into care after her death.

She initally hoped to raise £15,000 to pay for her funeral, flights and school fees.
