Turbine plan rejected

N OXON: An appeal has been lodged after controversial plans that could lead to eight wind turbines being put up were rejected by planners.

Cherwell District Council rejected the plan for a 60-metre high wind monitoring mast north of Hanwell, near Banbury, in December.

It said the plan was “intrusive”, the developer had not shown wildlife would be protected and it posed a risk to planes from Shotteswell Airfield.

Energy firm Regenco wants the mast to test whether the site is suitable for turbines. More than 450 people objected.

It has appealed to the independent Planning Inspectorate, which will now make a final decision.

We need to get the Government onside, as well as local councils and others, if we are going to stop these wind turbines being built.

Are you disillusioned by rising electricity prices, over dependence on the "green" dream and the destruction of our countryside then please register your objection to the Government by GOOGLING "E-PETITION 22958" and following the link.

Please pass this message on to Councillors, members of your community and anyone else you know to persuade them to sign up too. If you are really concerned about wind turbines please write a letter promoting this petition to the Editors of your local newspapers.
