ALL lanes on the M40 Southbound are now open after an accident between junction 11 and junction 10.

One car had gone into a ditch off the M40 between junctions 11 and 10 at approximately 4.15pm.

A spokesman from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to the M40 where one car went into a ditch.

"One person was cut out by the fire service and put into the care of the ambulance team.”

A South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “An ambulance doctor and an ambulance crew attended the scene and treated an elderly gentleman.

“He was later taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital by ambulance.”

One lane on the A34 southbound near Kidlington Junction is still closed after a three-vehicle collision.

Queues are stretching back up to the A41 at Bicester and drivers were advised to use the M40.
