A SUBSTANTIAL amount of cash has been stolen from a Post Office in Launton, near Bicester.
Police said as the shop in Sherwood Close was being locked up on Monday at 1pm a man forced his way in pushing a female employee back into the building. He demanded the till be emptied before stealing the cash.
Officers have described the man as stocky, mixed race and in his late twenties. He was around 5ft 8ins, clean-shaven and was wearing a black hooded top, black thick-rimmed glasses and black trousers or jeans.
The member of staff was uninjured during the incident and there was nobody else in the shop at the time.
A silver Vauxhall Astra was seen speeding away from the scene at around that time.
Investigating officer PC Ian Gibbard said: “While this was an upsetting experience for the victim, it is fortunate she was unharmed during the incident."
