STAFF at the health trust that runs the new community hospital in Bicester are looking for information on a donation made in the 1980s.

In July 1981, a woman called Iris Mackenzie, who lived in Middleton Stoney, donated a “largish sum” to build an extra room in the physiotherapy department of the former community hospital.

There is an old plaque from the former hospital but Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust would like to put up a new plaque and caption regarding Ms Mackenzie and her contribution.

Trust clerical assistant Judy Young said: “The donation was made as she had received treatment in the physiotherapy department and her donation plaque says ‘This room was donated by Miss Iris Mackenzie in July 1981’.

“Iris Mackenzie had a sister; Iris was shorter and of a sort of stocky build while her sister was tall and slim.

“I have spoken to older general practitioners and a previous physiotherapist who can’t give me any more information on her. It would be great if we could find out something more.”
