PLANS for a further 136 homes to be built on the Kingsmere sight in Bicester have been submitted to councillors.

Work started on the development in South West Bicester in 2010 and have so far seen around 500 homes built off the A41 Oxford Road.

The latest application - from Bellway Homes - would see a further 136 homes built on the western edge of the development.

When outline plans were submitted Bicester Town Council raised concerns over "whether due consideration has been given to enhancing the footpaths and cycleways" on neighbouring Middleton Stoney Road.

Chesterton Parish Council also suggested consideration should be given to another primary school for the development given the density of housing.

The farmland site off of Middleton Stoney Road and Oxford Road, has outline plans for up to 2,450 homes to be built after work started in 2010.

The most recent addition to the site is the new St Edburg's primary school which officially moved from its old building near the town centre in January.

The school moved to cater to the predicted growth, from its existing site in Cemetery Road where it had been for more than 150 years.

Further plans for the site include a new sports village which is currently under construction.
