YOUNG musicians rocked out at a charity show to mark the end of a week of Easter activities.

The gig was hosted by the Youth of Bicester – nicknamed the YOBs – with the help of the OYAP Trust, which works with young people across Oxfordshire.

The week of events was held as a #lovethestudio festival that celebrated the many projects held at the charity's base in Crown Walk, Bicester.

Musicians James Boon, 13, Cerys Isaacs, 14, Tom Owen, 16, George Lees, 14, and Blu Hillier, 16, entertained gig goers among the many YOBs performing at The Studio.

OYAP then staged another charity gig yesterday called the Courtyard Charity Fest, with the event raising money to keep the charity's gig committee going.

Committee member Evie O'Connell, 15, said: "The trust believes in providing irresistible creative opportunities that inspire and empower young people so they can create change in their communities and inspire others.

"The gig committee works as a team to organise and run gigs, so that people of all ages in and around Bicester can enjoy the local music scene.

"The gigs also allow local bands to gain recognition, practise performing in front of live audiences and increase their fan base."

Last night's gig took place at the Courtyard Youth Arts Centre in Launton Road and tickets are £5 from eventbrite.co.uk/e/courtyard-charity-fest-tickets-24109212303
