THE final plans are falling into place for the wedding of a bride who nearly died and was left blind after wrongly being prescribed swine flu drug Tamiflu.

Samantha Goddard faced a fight for her life in 2009 and has since endured further heartache when her one-year-old son Vinnie was diagnosed with brain tumours at just three months old.

But Miss Goddard and partner Tony Chandler have been given a final chemotherapy date for Vinnie – just in time for the wedding in July.

Miss Goddard, of Windle Gardens in Bicester, said: "We have just got the final little bits to do now.

"We had some great news about Vinnie's chemotherapy as we have the final date of May 27, and the Hickman line [a tube used to administer medication] will come out in June.

"It is the best news we could have had. We are so looking forward to Vinnie finishing his chemotherapy.

"It means he will be well for the wedding and we won't be worrying."

Vinnie's tumours – which doctors say were unrelated to Miss Goddard's health problems – mean the youngster is now registered blind and he has been having chemotherapy three times every six weeks.

Vinnie will be able to stop chemotherapy and only need regular check ups and an MRI scan every three years as he grows older.

Miss Goddard said: "We have got a little black and white suit with tails for Vinnie and my bridesmaids will be wearing royal blue, with the chief bridesmaid wearing nude.

"The only things left really are the favours and bridesmaid thank-yous, which I want to make personally."

To make the day extra special friends and family have come forward to pay for the photography, dresses, hair and make-up, the venue and the cake.

The wedding will be held at Garth Park with a morning ceremony before family and friends join for a party in the evening.
