THERE was something for every car enthusiast at Bicester Heritage when the weekend as the tenth Sunday Scramble of the year rolled into town.

Motorists wheeled in their classic cars to display at the former RAF bomber station and car clubs, including Aston Martin, MG, BMW and Classic Corvette were on hand to talk to visitors.

Hundreds of vintage and antique cars were on show as the sun beamed down on visitors and their four-wheeled friends.

There wasn't just the opportunity to show off and view classic cars but motorists queued around the block to have their vehicles valued by professionals.

Hagerty International insurance specialist hosted their third live valuation at the event - an ever-popular feature of the scrambles - supported by H&H Classic Auctions and Classic Cars magazine.

The plethora of specialists businesses in all things engineering opened the doors of their workshops, showrooms and storage facilities for the punters.

Flying lessons in the infamous 1930s Tiger Moth biplane were also on offer throughout the day.

Sunday's showcase was a fry cry from the former RAF base's bleak future in 2013 when it was at risk of being developed into housing.

But Bicester Heritage, which bought the site from the Ministry of Defence, lovingly restored it into the UK's first dedicated park for the restoration and display of vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes.

Around 70 per cent of the 50 outbuildings have been brought back to their former glory, where possible using original materials and techniques to keep the historic character - with plans for remaining buildings to be restored in the next year.

It was also the perfect back drop for key scenes in The Imitation Game hosting A-Listers Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley in 2014.

The next Sunday Scramble event at the site will take place on October 2.
