A POLICE helicopter scoured railway lines this morning after reports of a car on the tracks.

NPAS Benson tweeted about the search in the area of Bicester and Banbury, which happened at about 8.45am.

Sarah Buxton, spokeswoman for the British Transport Police, said a member of the public called in a sighting of a car on the railway line below a bridge on the M40 in Banbury.

She said officers were sent out but could not see a car when they arrived.
