RHYTHM flooded through Bicester's town centre as youngsters staged a street dance show for shoppers.
The event was arranged by young adults at the OYAP Trust to bring more cultural events to the town.
The trust, previously known as the Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership, works with young people to build creative projects throughout the county and on Thursday Sheep Street Dance hosted a number of acts.
They included Motionhouse Dance Theatre, Young Anjali from Anjali Dance Company and Implexa Dance Company.
Dancers swung from a steel frame erected in the town centre as they performed Captive, as shoppers watched.
Carmen Hoepper, of OYAP Trust, said: "This is a part of a larger project funded by the Arts Council England to conduct 18 months of research working towards a cultural strategy for Bicester.
"This includes bringing world-class culture to Bicester and talent development opportunities for young people, all working towards putting Bicester on the cultural map."
The performances ran from 11am through into the afternoon and proved popular with shoppers.
As part of the project there will also be dance sessions at the Bardwell School in Bicester, run by the Anjali Dance Company to give more children the opportunity to learn dance.
