This lady is actually my mum and i was with her the day this happened and can assure everyone reading this that she did not steal the childrens toys. The bag with with toys and receipts are still together and the police have been informed. I think its disgraceful that she has been portrayed as a thief photographed in the local paper along with my son and this matter will be looked into further.
Interesting that the "Police have" been informed; is this since the Bicester Advertiser article? If you had said "Police had" been informed, then the Police would have to make an apology to the "Lego Lady", but in truth, 99% of people who found a bag such as this would go immediately to the Customer Services/possibly Police and hand it over, as opposed to putting it on the handle of the pushchair and leaving the shop almost immediately! Perhaps it was a silly error by the lady who picked it up, but it was obvious it belonged to little girls and sure as eggs are eggs, they would be returning to collect it very soon after realising they'd no longer got it with them."

Suspected toy thief caught on CCTV

POLICE have released a picture of a woman they want to speak to in relation to a theft in a Bicester shop.

The woman, who is pushing a child in a buggy, was seen in Marks & Spencer in Sheep Street, Bicester, when a shopping bag that had been left on the floor by a child was taken on Saturday, February 4.

The plastic Argos bag contained two packages of ‘Lego friends’ worth about £25, and had just been bought by Sharon Evans for her two daughters.

Mrs Evans, 40, who lives near Bicester, said: “My youngest daughter held the Argos bag as I held the basket.

“She was so proud of her new toys I let her carry the bag. She set it down briefly at the back of the store, and moments later I noticed she did not have it when we moved to the next isle.

“I alerted staff immediately to help me search and asked them to check the CCTV cameras which were pointed in the right direction.”

Teacher Mrs Evans said: “Quite clearly the items in the Argos bag belonged to a child.

“It’s theft at the end of the day and it was quite obvious it was children’s toys.

“My eldest daughter was heartbroken. She was sobbing, saying ‘when is the person going to bring it back?’”

A police spokesman said: “Police have viewed the CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone with information about this woman to contact us.”

Anyone with information should call the police inquiry centre on 101.
