Lead stripped from village church

Lead thieves stripped metal from the roof of St Mary’s Church, in Bicester Road, Launton.

The lead, which was security marked with SmartWater, was stolen on Sunday night.

Anyone with information should call the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Why do we keep using lead on rooves? There are plenty of alternatives out there and they can be made to look like lead.

Might be an idea to put some spike topped railings on the side staircase of the church which the pikeys always use to get onto the roof.
