1:27pm Wednesday 31st October 2012

MEMBERS of Quarry Bank Royal British Legion are again hoping their annual poppy appeal will raise thousands of pounds for Britain’s armed forces heroes.

Dedicated legion volunteers will be collecting at Asda at Merry Hill and Brierley Hill and also at Sainsbury’s Merry Hill ahead of Remembrance Sunday (November 11) which for the first time in years will see Park Road in Quarry Bank closed to traffic while a parade takes place.

The legion will also be holding its annual poppy appeal concert at Quarry Bank Royal British Legion on Friday November 9 from 7pm till 11.30pm.

Tickets, priced £3, are available on 01384 560282.
