MORE than 900 homes in the Harwell area are without water this afternoon because of a burst pipe.

The six-inch water main in Tudor Walk, by the Rowstock roundabout, burst some time before 9am leaving 940 homes without a supply.

Harwell Community Primary School has shut for the day because it is without water. Oxfordshire County Council said it expected the school to reopen tomorrow.

Thames Water engineers are now trying to fix the problem, and hope to have supplies restored to all homes by 4pm.
