CHRISTMAS decorations sparkled as Didcot’s winter festivities got under way.

Visitors to Didcot’s Christmas Bake Off and Gift Fair were left dazzled by a host of handmade items and variety of gift stalls, at the Civic Hall, in Britwell Road.

Chris Gadd, 17, of Oxfordshire Jamboree Unit, sold handmade decorations to raise funds for Scouts going to the World Scout Jamboree in Japan next year.

Culinary wizards also put their cookery skills to the test during a festive bake off competition on Saturday.
