MURDERED Jayden Parkinson’s mother says she is “absolutely livid” after killer Ben Blakeley seemingly celebrated that he will not spend an extra day in prison for bottling a man.

Blakeley was seen punching the air in apparent celebration after hearing he was handed an eight-month sentence that will be served concurrently with his 20-year minimum life sentence.

The 23-year-old admitted one count of affray after fighting with Haydn Cannon outside Didcot Parkway station on October, 22, 2013.

Blakeley is currently serving a life sentence at HMP Winchester for murdering ex-girlfriend Jayden Parkinson on December 3, 2013.

Last year, a jury found him guilty of murder after he strangled her in countryside south of Didcot.

Speaking yesterday, Jayden’s mother Samantha Shrewsbury said she was not surprised at Blakeley’s reaction to his sentence.

She added: “I’m devastated. I get upset about this every day. It’s just ongoing, it’s never ending. Now that the sentence runs concurrent, that means nothing.”

Ms Shrewsbury said she was not informed about the sentencing and only found out about it on Facebook.

She added: “It should not be like this. We are left to deal with this and it’s not fair.”

Ms Shrewsbury said she was determined to help raise money and awareness of victims of domestic violence through charity “Jayden’s Gift” set up in memory of her daughter. She added: “It does not bring her back.

“It just concretes in my heart that I have to fight in Jayden’s name. I won’t let him get me down.”

At the sentencing, prosecutor Naomi Perry said a fight outside Didcot station ended with Blakeley smashing a bottle over Cannon’s head.

She said Blakeley continued to hit Cannon with the bottle and kicked him after he fell to the ground.

Defence barrister Lucy Tapper said Blakeley was provoked by Cannon who was sentenced to nine months’ jail last September for his role.

Blakeley will also have to pay a victim surcharge.
