AT THE age of six, some girls dream of growing their hair to the glamorous lengths of Disney’s Rapunzel.
But a youngster from Didcot instead set her sights on the humbling ambition of raising money for children’s charity Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
Casey Marie Blake, a pupil at Stephen Freeman Community Primary School, cut nine inches off her hair after growing it to her waist.
She was inspired to cut her locks after watching a YouTube video, called Emily’s Hair by Flypress Films, about a three-year-old girl who cut her hair for charity.
Her mum, Lucy Griffiths, said: “We googled Little Princess Trust and she said it was really sad how girls lose their hair through illness and she said she already had enough hair anyway.”
Casey, who has so far raised £360, added: “People who have no hair are people who might be a bit sad and they might have to wear a wig and I want them to be happy.”
