A woman is being treated for a puncture wound after finding a man in her garden shed.

The victim, who is in her forties, received the stomach injury early this morning when she disturbed a man who was in her garden in Downs Road, Didcot, police believe.

The woman was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not thought to be serious.

Thames Valley Police said it was called to reports of the assualt at 12.20am today.

Investigating Officer Det Sgt Tony Maddison said: "We would like to appeal for anyone who might have seen someone acting suspiciously in and around Downs Road prior to midnight or in the very early hours of this morning."
