THOMAS the Tank Engine and his friends rolled into Didcot Railway Centre as they enjoyed a Christmas break away from the Island of Sodor.

Cheerful train Thomas was escorted by head of the railway the Fat Controller in his iconic top hat and suit to greet families passing by.

The Fat Controller said it was a very busy weekend at the Didcot centre.

Thomas the Tank Engine chugged up a storm as youngsters boarded the steam engine and took his visitors to meet Santa Claus in his grotto, helped by his friend Duck.

Youngsters were surprised with a Christmas gift and a certificate, as well as balloon modelling and storytellers.

Train Thomas will be travelling back to his home tomorrow. Tickets are £15 for adults and children, and £13 for visitors aged 60 and over.
