A man from Didcot has been jailed after being convicted of drugs offences.

At Oxford Crown Court on Friday Joseph Ball, 20, admitted one count of possession of heroin with intent to supply and one count of possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

He was sentenced later that day to two years and eight months in prison.

Ball was arrested on July 29 in Tamar Way, Didcot, following a suspected drug deal and was found to be carrying class A drugs.

Officers believed he had swallowed more drugs and they charged him later that day with possession with intent to supply.

He was remanded at HMP Bullingdon and, while he was there, was found to be in possession of more drugs.

He admitted he had swallowed these drugs when he was initially detained by police.

Investigating officer Sgt Graham Pink said: "Following diligent investigation and collaborative work with colleagues from Her Majesty’s Prison Service, a significant amount of class A drugs have been kept away from the streets of Didcot and Abingdon.

“Joseph Ball’s early guilty plea is indicative of the strength of the investigation and his sentence should send a warning to drug dealers that dealing in our communities will not be tolerated.”
