AN OXFORD city council worker has been named as the first person to win part of a £3million lottery prize pot.
Andrew Fellows, who lives off Hagbourne road in Didcot, said that the People's Postcode Lottery had confirmed that he was one of the winners in a telephone conversation yesterday.
He will find out how much of the money he has won, along with other winners, at an event at Milton Hill House in Steventon on Saturday, 30 and was expecting his golden envelope in the post 'in the next day or so.'
Excitement spread across Oxfordshire yesterday after the People's Postcode Lottery announced that the winner of their September draw was a postcode in the county.
All the ticket holders living in OX11 8 will win part of the cash and a full postcode will be revealed at the event with these players taking home the largest winnings.
The lottery said that players would have to wait before their new riches are revealed but that the 846 winners in St Helens last month won prizes ranging from £1,619 to £428,570, and the month before in Hove there were 204 winners picking up between £10,926 and £257,387.
