A CONTRACT making new school sports pitches available to the community in perpetuity has been published.
Faringdon Community College has pledged to make its new outdoor tennis courts, playing fields and car park available to residents whenever they are not in use by pupils studying at the school.
In the final draft of its community contract submitted to Vale of White Horse District Council, the college said it was aiming to create more 'opportunities for the local community and sports organisations to participate in sport and physical activity for health improvement and development of their skills, particularly amongst low participant groups'.
However the college also said it would draw up a list of charges in due course 'to maximise community use'.
It said 'an easy and accessible advance booking arrangement for casual use and block
bookings shall be established... using a standard booking form'.
