Lead thief misses court date

A lead thief failed to show up for sentencing at Oxford Crown Court.

Mark Hendron admitted stealing metal from the roofs of eight institutions, including schools, a charity and a church, last month and was given bail. The 25-year-old, of Westfield, Harwell, near Didcot, did not appear at court on Monday and Judge Patrick Eccles issued a warrant for his arrest.
