A TEENAGE girl told a jury she sent a 22-year-old indecent photos of herself after he gave her “the wrong sort of attention”.

Paul Saunders, 22, of Horspath Road, Oxford, denies two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl between July 29 and December 20 last year.

He also denies possessing indecent photographs and two counts of causing or inciting child pornography, relating to the 14-year-old and another teenager.

Yesterday the other teenager, who was 14 or 15 at the time, told the jury she exchanged messages with Saunders using Blackberry messenger and Whatsapp.

The witness said over the two years they were communicating she also sent him indecent photos of herself.

She said: “He blackmailed me into sending him the photos.”

But defence barrister Jennifer Edwards asked her why if she felt she had been blackmailed did she then meet up with Saunders on December 15 last year.

The girl said: “I didn’t want to be on my own so I met him.

“It was stupid, but people make mistakes.

“I just felt he gave me attention. It was the wrong kind of attention, but he gave me attention which I didn’t have at that moment.”

Miss Edwards suggested to the girl Saunders had never asked for any pictures at all, which the witness said was not true.

The Oxford Crown Court case continues.
