YOUNG Maddison Elliott-Wheeler has shown she has got the groove.

The six-year-old took up freestyle dancing at the Ellagance Dance Academy only seven months ago and is already coming on in leaps and bounds after she finished first in her category at an Association of Dance and Freestyle Professionals competition.

Her mum Tracy Elliott, 31, said: “She started at a class at school and they invited her to a competition class as well because they said she was doing really well and had potential.

“She had her first competition in Thame last month and came first in her solo category, which was amazing.”

The Kidlington receptionist added: “Maddison absolutely loves it, she’s constantly practising at home.

“She seems to be coming on really well, and it’s really bringing her confidence on as well.”

The North Kidlington Primary School pupil said: “I really like dancing, especially the kicks. I practise every day. Doing the competition was a bit scary but awesome.”
