A criminal investigation has been launched after a man was bitten by a dog as he came to the rescue of a woman in Marston, Oxfod.

Dave Hook, 52, of Fairfax Avenue, needed a tetanus jab after he was attacked by five large Alsatians in the park near Rippington Drive last Monday.

Following a meeting between Thames Valley Police, the RSPCA and Oxford City Council’s dog warden, it has been decided the incident will be subject to a police probe under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
