WINTER weather has already begun to batter Britain and Andrew Thompson’s Windy Tree looks like it has been caught up in the storms.

In fact the sculpture is part of a new exhibit at the Turrill Sculpture Garden, Summertown which runs until February 28, 2015.

Sculpture co-ordinator Katherine Shock said she had chosen sculptures for the exhibition which she hoped visitors might want to buy as Christmas presents for their loved ones.

She said: “The overriding theme is Christmas and they are sculptures which you can buy as a present rather than sculptures which are expensive.

“I love the Windy Tree, I love the fact that Andrew’s work always has a bit of humour in it.

“It has so much vitality and looks like it is a part of nature.

“The link between the whole exhibition is the humour of the exhibits.”

Eight sculptures are featured in the exhibition including the Windy Tree, with Christopher Townsend’s Cricket on Ball and Alison Jones’s Pondering Lady also on display.
