A new panel designed to tackle growing inequality in Oxford met for the first time on Monday.

The Inequality Scrutiny Panel looked at ways Oxford City Council could reduce unemployment and food poverty, and help resolve a growing housing crisis in Oxford.

During the meeting councillors discussed a report by Good Food Oxford called “Feeding the Gaps”.

The report said more needed to be done to distribute an ever-growing amount of surplus food that goes to waste in the city.

The panel meets again on December 16.
