Works to repair a collapsed sewer main on Banbury Road will take more than two weeks.
Thames Water engineers expect to be operating two-way traffic lights outside the Dancing Dragon restaurant from 7am to 7pm until Monday, December 15.
Works began yesterday after the firm said the sewer needed to be fixed as soon as possible to prevent the road surface collapsing.
Project manager Ian Smith said: “If we did nothing, properties would be flooded with sewage and the road surface would collapse, risking the safety of those on the street.”
