Strike action at the John Radcliffe Hospital has been avoided after porters there voted to accept new proposals.
The porters had planned to go on strike tomorrow and Friday due to new conditions planned by their employer Carillion.
Trade union UNISON, which represents the porters, said these changes could have seen its members lose up to £54 a week and lead to forced shift changes.
The union has said new proposals from Carillion mean no porter will be financially worse off and any impact of shift pattern changes will be kept to a minimum.
Porters voted today to accept the new proposals.
UNISON lead negotiator James Sleep said: "It's been a tough few weeks but thanks to the commitment of our members and the help of ACAS [the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service] we were able to come up with a deal which our members could accept."
