PART of Cowley Road was blocked this morning after a two-car crash.
A red Volkswagen and a blue-grey Ford collided at the junction with Shelley Road at about midnight.
Residents reported a loud bang, followed by car alarms and shouting.
Two police cars arrived on scene, with one officer directing traffic around the smash, which had blocked the road city-bound.
He said it was believed no one was injured, although an ambulance was called.
Other officers interviewed people in a crowd of about 12 that had gathered around the wreckage.
The front of the Ford was badly damaged. Both front airbags had gone off.
The left-hand side of the Volkswagen was also badly damaged.
It is not known how many people were in the cars, or what direction they had been travelling in.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine. Firefighters inspected both cars and made the scene safe by dealing with spilled fuel.
