PLATE spinning and balloon making were in abundance at Barton's Christmas celebrations.
Santa Claus visited a children's party at the Neighbourhood Centre, in Underhill Circus, on Sunday afternoon with an international cuisine of festive food also on offer.
The centre's sports hall was converted into a festive grotto for the afternoon, which was attended by about 60 youngsters.
Sue Holden, secretary of the Barton Community Association, said the organisers were pleased with how the event had gone.
She added: "It went really well. It was organised chaos as such with these events.
"The job club transformed the sports hall into a Santa's grotto for the afternoon and the children all went home with a goody bag from him.
"The children were on a real high when they left. Upstairs we had the international food festival which was well attended.
"Everyone helped out so it was a good team effort."
