A BEAUTY pageant contestant has raised more than £800 for the British Heart Foundation.

Abingdon resident Chloe Peters will be competing in the Miss Charity Heart in February and has brought her fundraising total to £807 after a successful charity meal last month.

The McDonald’s employee said: “After weeks of planning, organising and advertising the charity meal it all came together and was a great success.

“To my knowledge my total is the highest so far out of all the 26 contestants.

“I have achieved more than I would have ever considered possible and the sense of achievement is amazing.

“I have learned so much about myself from my organising skills to public speaking.”

A raffle was also held on the night, November 27, where event goers could win hand made Christmas wreaths donated by Rose Blossom Crafts and enjoy a stand of Lego jewellery and art by Oxford Brick Art .

But the 20-year-old does not want to stop there and is hoping to raise £1,000 by the time she struts her stuff on the catwalk at the Staffordshire final on February 19 in her grey ball gown.
