Thames Water spokesperson Stuart White said that while engineers were immediately dispatched the leak is yet to be repaired.
He said: “We sent a team to fix the burst water pipe as soon as it was reported last night and worked around the clock to complete the repair this morning.
“We’re sorry for the disruption and will have everything back to normal as quickly as possible, as temporary traffic lights are still needed while we reinstate the road.”
