MEMBERS of a village drama group are gearing up for performances of their winter pantomime.

Kennington Amateur Dramatics Society will give seven performances of Sinbad the Sailor at Kennington Village Centre later this month.

Sarah Ellner, of Abingdon, who handles scenery as well as managing the group’s publicity, said: “It’s always a really good atmosphere and it’s a fun thing to be a part of.

“We’ve got some really talented people in the group but it’s not just about that - it’s about having a good time.”

The group has been rehearsing since September. It will be the third time the society, founded in 1979, has performed the story of Sinbad, and there will be 40 cast members utilising 120 different costumes.

Collections for Kennington Scouts and Kennington Guides will take place during each of the performances

Shows will be held at 7.30pm in the Village Centre on January 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28.

There will be 2pm matinee performances on January 21, 22 and 28.
